Family,Friendship, Past, Experiences, and Present -

Welcome to my blogspot, this is the first blog created by myself Yoel'Sickle' Reina. It will be the opening theme to my blog page from here on out. Although it would seem that the most important aspects of life would be terribly long to explain... It really isn't. With all my past events, my mind and body has shaped to be what it is today, due to those events. Everything from escaping Cuba, losing my grandfather, dropping out of school to get a GED, leaving to the Army, going into Kosovo/Kuwait/Iraq, getting out of those locations in one piece, have all shaped me to be the person I am today. So... I have just explained past & experiences rather briefly for now and enough to move onto family & friendship!

Unfortunately I do not have much of audience at all for my blog, or any if that, but I hope to soon make new friends on here who will appreciate my writing, so for those of you who are new to my blog, I want you to understand me as a person and why I function the way I do. ----

I am currently twenty-three years of age and my mindset is more often than not set on family values... which by the way is the only conservative part in me. Everything my family needs or does will reflect on me and play a very large role in my life. My father & mother have always been there for me... No, they have done more than just be there for me, they are my heroes. My father was the man who got me out of such an horribly oppressed nation, Cuba. My father has gone very far from 1992 to today, when we first arrived to the U.S. he and the rest of my family took jobs as janitors. Eventually my father became a truck driver and we finally started establishing our lives.

Moving to Florida was tough for me, as I was too used to the city life. Everything down here seemed really empty and I felt that I had no purpose, which is where I decided to stop attending college and join the military. I finally came to the conclusion after my four years of service that this was not the best descision to make, but it was one that I made without an inch of regret.

Now in the present, I am working, and I love what I do. I am a phlebotomist for Florida Blood Services; I want to start attending EMT Classes next year (Jan, 1, 09) then follow up with Paramedic and right into nursing. I am thankful for the path I have chosen to take, and I owe it all to the military, if it wasn't for a wounded soldier in Iraq, who I had to give aid, and keep him living long enough to get medievac, I would not know what to do, and what would be more rewarding than giving someone a second chance in life. In the field I have chosen, I can guarantee myself and my family a secure financial future, and also change peoples lives on a daily basis.

This is the first part of my blog, I have more to cover, and I will write again soon! If anyone manages to read it, thank you, atleast it won't be writen in vein. If you tried to read it, thanks for the attempt! ;P

God bless,
Yoel S.R.
